Affectionately called Tapping!
New to EFT? Watch this video by Dr. Dawson Church https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZDjAhuo_6Y)
Known commonly as “tapping”, Emotional Freedom Techniques was created by Gary Craig. it is a powerful self-help tool that you can learn in minutes.
It is called “tapping” as the person taps on acupoints on the head, face, and upper torso (as used in acupuncture, but with no needles!) while bringing to mind a stressful event. The negative emotions are verbally described while using your own fingers to tap on the acupoint.
After rounds of tapping the body reduces the stress hormone (called cortisol), (source Dawson Church Psychology 2013. Vol.4, No.8) reducing reactivity to the stressor, meaning that you feel better and help you relax. This can help you deal more effectively with your issue.
If you have psychological or physical problems it is essential that you consult your physician or licensed mental health practitioner, since EFT k is not a substitute for medical or mental health treatment. Elaine Wood is not trained to diagnose a healthcare issue or trained to be able to refer you to an appropriate medical or mental health worker.
There is no guarantee to the outcome to EFT .EFT is considered experimental except as outlined in the statement below.
